Paris is one of the main tourist attractions of France. It has everything from amazing food to world-renown sites. In this personal travel blog post, I will describe a few experiences during a quick weekend in Paris!

Through trying multiple cafes and restaurants, two of them stood out to me. If you find yourself in the heart of Paris, in the neighborhood called “Les Champs Elysées,” I highly recommend going to “Verde”. This restaurant is a chic take on food, where you have to walk underground to this dark-lit room. This is a good restaurant if you do not know what type of food you want, as they serve a wide variety. I went with a couple of friends, and I can say from personal experience the salmon is amazing. It has a buttery finish and a lot of flavor. For sides, I do not think you can go wrong with fries!

The kind of individual who might appreciate eating at Verde is probably someone who is interested in plant-based cuisine, healthy, or just likes to try new foods. People who eat vegetarian or vegan meals frequently or want to increase their intake of plant-based foods may find this restaurant appealing. Verde is a great place to dine if you like inventive recipes using veggies, grains, and lentils, and fresh, organic ingredients. Verde is generally likely to draw visitors curious about food and open to trying new things, regardless of whether they adhere to a particular dietary restriction.

“Le Bimbo” is renowned for its inviting atmosphere, which includes hardwood tables and retro furnishings. They provide vegetarian and vegan options along with a selection of French cuisine such steak frites, escargots, and crème brûlée. The restaurant also has a selection of wines and beverages to go along with your meal. Personally, I recommend the black truffled pasta as shown above. It was the best pasta I have ever tasted, and to say that holds a lot of weight as I am a pasta lover. This dish was the right amount to feel full and was not heavy compared to a lot of pastas. The sauce was very light and packed a punch of flavor.

Customers have referred to Montmartre’s “Le Bimbo” as a hidden gem with top-notch cuisine and welcoming service. The restaurant is situated on Rue Lepic, a bustling Montmartre street popular for its cafes, bakers, and grocery stores.

Check the restaurant’s hours and make a reservation in advance, especially on weekends or during busy times, if you’re interested in dining at “Le Bimbo” in Paris.

To wrap up my weekend, I visited two very well-known tourist sites. When someone thinks of Paris, their mind goes to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.

Despite this not being my first time in Paris, being able to go back when I was older over Spring Break and seeing two of Paris’ most well-known monuments was a memorable experience I will never forget!

A soaring representation of Paris, the Eiffel Tower provides breathtaking panoramic views of the city from its observation decks. The Champs-Élysées, the Seine River, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral can all be seen from the top of the tower, which may be reached by elevator or by taking the stairs. It is a lovely spot to visit at night because the Eiffel Tower is exquisitely lighted, as shown in the picture above. If you go during the first 5 minutes of every hour, it will sparkle, which I also highly recommend visiting during the evening.

Another well-known structure in Paris that honors France’s fallen troops is the Arc de Triomphe. It is situated at the end of the Champs-Élysées, and its terrace provides stunning views of the city. In order to see the elaborate carvings and sculptures on the Arc de Triomphe’s façade up close, visitors can even climb to the top of the monument. I was able to see all of Paris, which really put into perspective of how beautiful this city is!

Reflection:

The process of translating was harder than I was expecting. I wrote my English one first as I am more experienced and knowledgeable with expressions used in the English language however, I was unsure what these same expressions would be in French. This was annoying at times because when I used the expression in English, it conveyed what I truly meant, whereas in French, for instance, the word-for-word translation made no sense, or there was not the same expression in French. For example, expressions such as “inviting atmosphere”, “to say that holds a lot of weight as I am a pasta lover”, “packed a punch of flavor”, “a hidden gem”, and “top-notch cuisine” didn’t seem to translate and their word-for-word translation did not make sense. To overcome this, I substituted these expressions for other words in French, which convey similar meanings!
