Throughout this semester at Wesleyan University, we have been learning about how languages interact and the history and research behind multilingualism. The class “Writing in Multiple Languages” has provided us with insights on how we can use multilingualism in our everyday lives and as a society. Everyone in the class is bilingual and has been practicing their dominant and non-dominant languages through journaling and displaying varying expressions of their cultures. Multilingual writing refers to translating, interpreting, translanguaging, and rewriting content to be culturally understandable. Students have been learning about multilingual topics such as – language acquisition, translating, linguistic determinism,  relativism, the bilingual mind, bilingual marketing, world language policy, and more. Through this project and our papers, weekly journaling, discussion boards and response entries we have gained valuable practice in celebrating our diverse minds.
